I first laid eyes on him on a flight to the Wildlands, where I was headed to retrieve my father's remains. It was the green teardrop earring on his left ear that first caught my attention. Little did I know, he would be the one to repeatedly pull me from danger throughout that harrowing journey. As I eventually left the Wildlands and glanced back at the Sacred Peak, I saw him atop the hillside, mounted on the white horse Meadow, watching me from afar. In that moment, it felt as if I were looking at a god.
