ABSTRACT
On the day of my engagement to Oscar Bolton, I found two hotel deposits on his phone.
One was for our engagement party.
The other was for the one-month celebration of my best friend Bethany Bright's baby.
Both events were held at the same hotel, except that hers was on the third floor and mine was on the first floor.
I clutched his phone and went up to the third floor, trembling all over. I wanted to see it for myself.
When I reached the door, my future mother-in-law's voice came from inside the room.
"This baby is so lively. He looks exactly like Oscar did when he was little."
Then I heard another familiar voice.
"I don't think he just looks like Oscar. His eyes are exactly the same as Bethany's."
It was my mother talking.
Bethany laughed. "Well, our baby really got all the best traits from his mom and dad. He's definitely going to grow up to be a very handsome man."
Oscar sounded a little anxious. "Let's hurry up and take the family photo. Alicia is still waiting for me downstairs."
I shoved the door open, my eyes sweeping over everyone in the room.
"No need," I said. "I'm already here."
