Our marital home had been left vacant for three years when I suddenly received an electricity bill for a hundred dollars. I sent a screenshot of the bill to my husband. He replied almost instantly. Vincent: That's strange. It's probably the old wiring leaking electricity. I'll ask the building management to check it tomorrow.  I smiled and texted back. Jane: Okay. Then I immediately called the building management, sounding panicked. I told them I suspected there was a serious gas leak in the apartment and asked them to shut off the water, electricity, and gas immediately, then notify the fire department. After hanging up, I drove to our marital home and leisurely parked downstairs. From inside my car, I watched my husband come rushing out of the building before he even had time to change out of his pajama pants, carrying a heavily pregnant woman in his arms.
